What the...?

Well, just to prove that my game likes to hold grudges, it totally spazzed on me when Sandy and Brandon came back from their vacation. Yesterday it was somewhat fine until they arrived back to Saskan Harbour, and then Brandon's thumbnail picture disappeared (it was blank), and he was still in his work clothes and unable to change out of them. I figured that if I saved, quit, and deleted the SimCompositorcache so it could generate a new one, it would fix it. It didn't. Instead, the UI disappeared completely. I removed all my mods, and the same thing happened. Now I'm going to download a program that will help me find corrupt CC (that is, if I can find a program that does that). If there's no corrupt CC, I might have to start over with a new Brandon and a new Sandy. It's a bit sad because even though they're still the same sims, they're just...different, you know? They're clones, instead of the originals. It doesn't feel the same. :(

And on top of that, Blogger has been acting strange (which I'm sure is no surprise to you guys, since as I've seen by reading other simmers' blogs, the comments are goofing up for everyone). Now that I'm done whining, I'll show you the final pictures that I took before some bug completely killed the save file.

R.I.P. Sandy Alcott and Brandon Dillard, see you again soon.

  1. I just read the other update before this one. Congratulations on the upcoming baby. I won't comment on both but I know how aggravating it can be when things are going so well and suddenly they go crazy.
Jeez, we just never know what is going to happen with the game or with the blogger.
I hope you can continue with the story.

  2. Yeah, sigh. I'm just going to keep trekking on with the Dillard/Alcott duo 2.0 and see where that gets me, lol. One thing's for sure: I'll be saving a lot more often from now on.

  3. When I played original sims, the computer I played on was old then and I had to save constantly because otherwise the game would get all messed up. The screen would look like a jigsaw puzzle. I have had the saving habit ever since. Even when re-doing a house. I save after every room.

I wonder if that new update I read about will make a difference. LOL, everytime they update and fix some things, something else messes up. Keeping fingers crossed for me and everyone else.

  4. LOL, I noticed that! Maybe EA should consider hiring some modders to handle the patches. No offense to some of their obviously somewhat incompetent programmers, but I think modders in the Sims community could probably do a better job with the patches. My fingers are definitely crossed. Here's hoping the new update won't break our games!

  5. Let's see now. I must remember to empty my caches. If I don't do that I may end up with dopplegangers and men aging up with womens hair like I did once before. I must remember to back up my game. That for some reason is the hardest thing for me to remember. I don't know why.

  6. Backing up my game is probably the easiest for me to remember, but I always forget to clear out my caches. Thankfully, I don't have men aging up in women's hairstyles yet. What a strange consequence, lmao! Thank you, though. You reminded me of some very important steps

  7. I'll never forget that time. I started a game. Updated. Next thing I knew guys aging with girls hair. Saw one of the sims as a elder when I knew I just saw her as a young adult or adult. Went to check at her house and there she was, same age while her clone was sitting at the bistro old and gray. It was hilarious but caused me to have to start another game.
